EU declaration of conformity of gafer.pl gloves

In June 2025, gafer.pl gloves received EU declaration of conformity. This marking confirms that the product meets EU requirements for safety, health, and environmental protection. The conformity is issued by CIOP PIB – the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute.

In the case of gloves, tests are carried out depending on their intended use. For example, for gloves used in laboratories, the manufacturer applies for tests that reflect conditions likely to occur during laboratory use. For protective work gloves, tests may include abrasion resistance, blade cut resistance, tear resistance, puncture resistance, finger dexterity while wearing the glove, and also whether the glove size meets applicable standards.

We do not know exactly how the testing process is conducted, but based on the received specification, it can be assumed that after being sent to the laboratory, the glove is divided into samples that are then tested. For example, the abrasion resistance test conducted in accordance with standard PN-EN 388 + A1:2019-01 section 6.1 involves taking four samples and testing them using abrasive paper (Klingspor PL31B-180, Poland) and double-sided adhesive tape (TESA® 56170-00004, Poland). According to this standard, if a product withstands at least 100 abrasion cycles, it receives performance level 1; above 500 cycles, level 2; at least 2,000 cycles corresponds to level 3. The highest level, 4, requires 8,000 cycles. The four-level scale also applies to tear and puncture resistance, while cut resistance and finger dexterity are rated on a scale from 1 to 5. Honestly, reading the test report is extremely interesting.
