What is the difference between fluorescent and photoluminescent tape?

Photoluminescence is one type of luminescence. It is a phenomenon that produces light under non-thermal conditions. The excitation factor for this phenomenon is visible radiation (phosphorescence) and ultraviolet radiation (fluorescence).
Fluorescent materials will only glow when exposed to UV lamp light!
On the other hand, phosphorescent materials (the colloquially used name is photoluminescent) will continue to emanate light in the dark for some time, when they have previously absorbed energy from visible light.
